Masks are not an option, they are mandatory while you are in the building. If you wear your masks, we will not have to make this announcement.
Students, please make sure you get breakfast before the 7:49 bell and lunch before the 12:45 bell.
Students, you may eat lunch in the gym but you are expected to leave the gym clean and please continue to practice social distancing!
Hats and hoods are not allowed in the building!

The Conejos Rotary Youth Empowerment Program is still offering tutoring for grades K-12, with written parent permission, from 4:00 PM to 5:15 PM, at the Senior Citizen Center in La Jara. Tutoring will be provided every Tuesday and Thursday. Retired teachers and students tutors will be available and on site, so bring your written parent permission with you. This tutoring is Free of Charge.
Baseball open field will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 pm and Friday mornings at 9:00. Meet at the baseball field. Open track this week Monday and Wednesday at 4:15. Track and baseball officially begin April 26th. You must have a current physical and be registered on planeths.com to participate. Come to the office with any questions.
The Sources of Strength will be putting up posters celebrating the differences we have in our school. You will see a world with little people, all representing differences here at the school like race, religion, ethnicity, or background. There will be more people cut outs in the office for anyone who wants to add one to the posters. If you do that put your name in the drawing and they will pick one winner for some swag.
Prom is May 7th and you must be academically eligible to attend. Underclassmen must be asked by an upperclassmen.
For FCCLA we are putting out boxes and accepting the following donations- cleaning supplies, face masks that are not used, non-perishable food, full size toiletries, snacks, play-does, markers, crayons, gel pens, journals, and clothes for both adults and kids. These donations will be given to the people of Tu Casa.
Students, our parking lot is too small. Please park closer to the car next to you. Learn how to drive.
Cheer tryouts for next year will be the week of May 3rd. There will be more information to follow.
This announcement is from Mr. Wilson, slow down while driving through the parking lot. The speed limit is 5 miles per hour. You can’t use the middle lane at the middle school.
There will be a HOSA meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m.
There will be Chess today in Mrs. Lee’s room.
Please come and nominate prom king and queen during lunch all week. There will be a table set up in front of Mr. Parish’s room all week.
There is a 2021 youth archeology program. It will be a 6-day free program where you will get to experience archeology in the San Luis Valley and learn about local history and culture. They will meet at 8am each day at a central spot (TBD) and finish at 5pm. The program includes visits to the Great Sand Dunes National Park, Baca Ranch Wildlife Refuge, Fort Garland Museum, and several other sites around the valley. Transportation will be provided. Check your email or come to the office for more information.
There is also a 2021 youth walking leader program. You must be a 15-18 year old who is interested in group leadership roles and passionate about the outdoors. One youth will be selected from each county: Conejos, Costilla, and Alamosa. You must have reliable transportation, phone service, and access to an email. If you are interested in learning about local culture, history, water conservation, public lands, or becoming trained in CPR or public speaking, make sure to sign up! Each youth leader will receive a stipend. Applications are due by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, April 20. For more information on this summer job opportunity, pick up a flyer in the office.
