About the Teacher

Kalee Buhr

I have had the privilege of serving as the CTE Business Teacher at Centauri since January 2019, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to follow this path. I earned my Business degree from Adams State University, but I always felt a calling to do more. This led me to pursue an alternative teaching license, a decision I am truly happy I made.

What I enjoy most about teaching in the CTE field is witnessing the connections students make between the material they are learning and its real-world applications. Business is dynamic, ever-present, and relevant to everyone, which makes it a vital area of study. I believe all students can benefit from gaining an understanding of the business world and economics.

Prior to entering education, I worked as a bookkeeper and payroll specialist for a small company. Outside of teaching, my husband and I also operate a small, successful trucking business. This practical experience enhances my classroom instruction, and I work hard to keep my curriculum aligned with the evolving needs of the business world.

I continually adapt my coursework based on feedback from my advisory committee, which helps ensure my content is up-to-date and reflective of current industry trends. These partnerships with business professionals strengthen my students’ learning experience and provide valuable insights into the real-world applications of their studies.

I am passionate about helping students understand how business impacts their daily lives and the power that knowledge of business can have. It is incredibly rewarding to see students gain an appreciation for how business principles shape not only their futures but also the world around them.
