Counselor's Corner

Last month was focused on self-love and finding what traits we like about ourselves. I also, briefly, discussed the process of developing automatic positive thoughts to replace the negative. This month I want to focus on building self esteem and celebrating our strengths.

Celebrate your Strengths

Building Self-Esteem:

This month, let's focus on recognizing our strengths. Everyone has something unique that makes them special! Here's a fun activity to try:

Self-Strength Reflection Activity:

  • Write down three things you are proud of (could be something in school, a hobby, or how you helped someone).
  • Share these strengths with someone you trust, or keep them in a journal to reflect on when you need a boost.

Remember: You are amazing just as you are!

Let’s make March a month full of growth, self-love, and kindness. Keep working toward your goals, and remember that every step you take brings you closer to success.

Safe2Tell
Anonymously report anything that concerns or threatens you, your friends, your family, or your community. We take your reports any time, any day.

I saw something recently that I want to do better at in my own life, and I want to share with others as well:

Stressed? Run
Moody? Take a nap
Angry? Life weights
Sad? Get sunlight
Anxious? Take a walk

Your mental health can be improved by physical things. If you walk for 30 min/day, slept 8 hours a night, lifted weights, drank enough water, and got morning and evening sunlight, in six months you would be unrecognizable.
