School Achievements

In 2019, Manassa Elementary was recognized as a finalist for the Colorado Succeeds Prize.                                         "The Succeeds Prize is a storytelling campaign and cash award that identifies, recognizes, and amplifies the innovations of Colorado’s most forward-thinking educators.  Through The Succeeds Prize, the business community invests in programs that are transforming public education to prepare students from all backgrounds to succeed and collaborates with 9NEWS to share their learnings to inspire and support educators statewide."  (https://Coloradosucceeds.org)

In 2017, Manassa Elementary School received the John J. Irwin School of Excellence award.  The John J. Irwin awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science. 

Manassa Elementary received the Commissioners Cup Award from the Colorado Department of Education in 2008 for closing the educational gap.

Manassa Elementary received the 2005-2006 President’s Challenge Physical Activity and Fitness Award; Physical Fitness State Champion.

In 2003 and 2004 Manassa Elementary was awarded the No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School Award.   This award is for achieving academic excellence and striving to meet President George w. Bush’s mission to ensure that every child receives a quality education.

Manassa Elementary School received the National Title I Distinguished School Award in 2003.  This award recognized schools across the country for their innovation in helping Title I populations achieve high educational standards.  The Distinguished Schools Program is a project of the National Title I Association and provides an opportunity for Title I schools from every state to be publicly recognized for their educational achievements.  Distinguished Schools are elected from each state in one of two categories: 1: Exceptional student performance for two or more consecutive years, and 2: closing the achievement gap between student groups.

Manassa Elementary received an award for Outstanding Achievement, Small Site State Champion in the 2002 RIF Community Reading Challenge.

In 2000 Manassa Elementary received the John J. Irwin Distinguished Improvement Award.
